Defending Human Rights, One Life at a Time
Touch One Life is on the frontlines of ending harmful practices like FGM and child marriage. Through safe spaces, rescue programs, and bold girl-led advocacy, we’re protecting thousands of vulnerable children and empowering the next generation of changemakers.
The Problem
Girls in Kenya continue to face gender-based violence, forced marriage, and FGM. Many suffer from trauma, isolation, and lack of support systems. Without intervention, the cycle continues from one generation to the next.
Programme one
Rescue Centre Partnerships
We work with local rescue centres to offer mentorship and support for girls at risk of FGM. These girls often face significant emotional and physical trauma, and our goal is to help them find safety and reintegrate them into their communities.
Along with our partners, we provide the resources and guidance necessary for these girls to rebuild their lives and become advocates for change.
Programme two
Msichana Bila Wembe (LSGBV Programme)
Msichana Bila Wembe is an initiative co-created with adolescent girls to nurture leadership, amplify voices, and strengthen agency among girls. Anchored in safe spaces, the project empowers girls through life skills training, access to accurate sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) information and services, and girl-led advocacy.
Through our partnership with Children Need Help Organization Sweden, Touch One Life CBO has implemented Msichana Bila Wembe as a flagship project that directly supports over 5,000 adolescent girls (ages 9–18) and young women (ages 18–30).
The project has led to the prevention of more than 2,000 cases of female genital mutilation (FGM) and child marriage, while also providing legal and healthcare support to over 1,500 survivors of gender-based violence.
Programme THREE
Youth Exchange Program – Kenya & Uganda
Touch One Life CBO has been actively running a youth exchange and environmental sustainability program, connecting young leaders from Kenya and Uganda. This dynamic exchange has stood out as one of the most impactful and community-driven initiatives, focusing on climate action, cultural learning, and child welfare.
The program promotes cross-border collaboration, integrates tree growing with social impact, and builds a network of youth leaders advocating for green, just, and peaceful communities. Activities include:
Tree Growing Campaigns: The youth planted fruit trees in collaboration with schools, health centers, community leaders, and local governments.
Community Service: Volunteers visited children’s homes, donated books, and participated in clean-up drives.
Peer-to-Peer Learning: Youth groups explored one another's traditions and exchanged knowledge on sustainable farming, climate change mitigation, permaculture, and mental health.
